COVID has not been not handled by public health experts but instead by medical practitioners with no standard healthcare protocols developed due to lack of research and data.Virus has been around since the birth of mankind. According to WHO COVID-19 and influenza or the common cold are both infectious respiratory diseases displaying similar symptoms caused by different viruses. The vulnerability of an individual is different for both forms of virus as well as the treatment protocols.Perhaps on account of the scare and anxiety generated of the lethal effects on an individual stricken with COVID  funding and research and innovation for equally lethal and life threatening diseases such as Hepatitis , Renal failure, Diabetes  ,Cancer , Cardiac disease and AIDS was relegated to the backseat . Extreme cases of COVID-19 were kept in some manner of contact isolation and their post recovery rehabilitation was compromised leading to lowered immunity and extended and costly recovery.
