LNG Vessels & Mergers The European Commission has blocked the proposed merger between Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering  and  Hyundai Heavy Industries  on the premise that a monopoly would be established in the construction of large Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) vessels which are an integral component  of the LNG supply chain and ensure energy security.
